Stopped in here for the first time today. It's tucked away at SW corner of 44th and Lowell in the same lot as the Safeway. I've lived in the area for 5 years and just discovered them a couple of months back. Small, family owned spot with great BBQ, sides, sauces and desserts. We had the pulled pork, Mac n cheese and cornbread and buttermilk pie. Tasted all 5 of their sauces too. Everyone was distinct and tasty. Check the place out if you haven't yet!
MoreOrdered delivery through door dash. Asked for Fatty Brisket but got a lean cut that was super dry. Sides were mediocre and sauces had a strong tomato/corn starch flavor to them.
MoreReally good barbeque. Amazing sides, some of the best baked beans on earth. I love that they have all the different choices for sauces.
MoreFriendly staff. The ribs are so yummy falling off the bone. One of the best BBQ places that I have tasted. When ordering try to order early because she sells out later in the day.
MoreThe wife typed in "best bbq in Denver" and this place popped up. This small locally owned BBQ joint did not disappoint. I was in food coma by the end of the meal. We tried many items from the menu and every bit of it left us wanting more. From the plate full of good sized meaty ribs, to the stuffed pulled pork sandwich, and all the sides. We were in heaven. The meats were juicy and the light seasoning on the meat allowed the flavors of the meat to shine by themselves. They also had a variety of different sauces that transported you to other regions of the country. My wife talked me into trying the Brunswick stew. After I tasted it I couldn't get enough of it. One caveat. Don't wait till the last hour before closing as they start to run out of main dishes so they have less wasted food.
MoreIncredibly delicious! Even the baked beans with some spice in it! And the sauces! 🤤
MoreThe best we’ve found in Denver. Worth driving across town. Highly recommend the pulled pork and the buttermilk pie.
MoreAbsolutely phenomenal bbq. Came here twice in three days during our stay in Denver. The burnt ends and buttermilk pie where both out of this world. The burnt ends were juicy and well seasoned, the pie was firm, sweet, and everything you’d expect from a southern dessert. They have a number of homemade barbecue sauces all of which were fantastic. I thought the Carolina was the best. We got both the potato salad and coleslaw as sides. Both were a little different than I had before but also very good. Definitely coming back here if we return to Denver.
MoreAn unassuming storefront paired with unremarkable BBQ. The interior is a little cramped but would be totally acceptable if the food were better. Sauces are uninspired and prices are way too high for what you get. Not worth the price when there are so many other excellent BBQ places in the area.
MoreHad a hankering for some BBQ on this chilly day, found this little gem in the neighborhood. Ordered the brisket, tender smoky flavor and accompanying sides were baked beans (score!) and potato salad (too much sour cream). They offer a variety of deliciousness and fresh sauces, I tried the dark (thick and sweet like me) and the memphis (yummy tang).I look forward to trying the other options.
MoreThis spot is hidden away in a parking lot near Wheatridge somewhere, but the flavors you'll get here will bring you straight to the southern smokehouse experience that's lacking at so many places here in CO. The ribs were falling off the bone, and there was even pie afterwards. The collards needed a little extra spice but everything was incredibly tasty overall. I'll certainly be back!
MoreBeing from Louisiana, this Arkansas Hog is so close to home, it feels like my backyard! Amazing flavors, unlimited sauces & southern hospitality smothered all over your experience! Thank you so much for going above & beyond. 👍👍
MoreI grew up in the south and until I found this place I hadn't found food that taste like home! I found it here!! Not only is the food TO DIE FOR but the staff and owners are literally the best, always smiling always happy to serve us, and just good people. We need more restaurants like this!! Did I mention the food is AMAZING!!! Oh and the prices are very good especially for the amount of food they give you they dont skimp on the meat!! Go try it you wont regret it.
MoreOMG I ordered food from here today and it was amazing. Being from the south I don’t like everyone’s potato salad or collard greens but let me tell you I enjoyed both ok. The ribs are great too I’m just so surprised about the greens and potato salad lol. I will definitely be ordering again 😋
MoreGreat smoked pork, reasonable prices. Worth the trip.
The food was amazing! The meat was very tender and delicious. The Mac and cheese was also amazing. I would go back here every day if I could.
MoreThe friendliest, genuine people here making the best Q. Their sauces are #1 award all day long.
MoreMy go to barbeque restaurant and not just because it's closest to my houseThey make everything in house, including the sauces! If you see their sweet sauce for sale - grab it while you can because they typically sell out within a few days. Their sides are normal for a barbeque joint but all of them are good! I'm pretty picky about my sides, it's been a deciding factor on whether or not it return to a barbeque restaurant so the fact that I go here once a month says a lot.Their prices are very reasonable and they've got some great combos. I normally get the two meat meal and eat it for three meals so it's well worth the money.Go early though because they definitely sell out before their posted hours, especially in the warmer months.Oh, and they do takeout so you can always call on your way home and swing by to grab it!
MoreFirst time at Ragin' Hog BBQ today. Needless to say I will definitely be going back again! I ordered the 3 meet combo. Chose the smoked pork, brisket and burnt ends. All three were very good. The burnt ends were my favorite. The cornbread and Mac and cheese were both also good. They have a lot of different side to choose from. If you're a Razorback fan, this is the BBQ spot for you.
MoreThis place has the best bbq I've tasted in Denver yet and I've been here over 40 years. Pleasant staff, home like feel when greeted.
MoreThis place is great and you get huge portions! We both got the "lighter" option and it was more food than either of us could eat. The brisket was so tender it just fell apart. Great lunch spot!
MoreIncredibly delicious. The best BBQ in Denver and the best buttermilk pie in the world!!! You’ve never had anything like this made from scratch pie. I loved it so much, I brought 4 pies on a plane back to my hometown. Decent prices. Come at an odd hour and you might get the whole place to yourself.
MoreGood portion sizes. Would recommend
Been coming here for two years. Always wonderful food. Green chile stew is to die for highly recommended! Ribs brisket top-notch macaroni and cheese the greatest love it wish I could afford to eat there every day
MoreJust had takeout from Ragin' Hog BBQ off of 44th & Lowell. DELISH! The ribs were falling off the bone, hot links were amazeballs, pulled pork super tender, and the mac'n cheese... well it's mac'n cheese😁. You folks might want to order and pick up from there😋.
MoreIf you want brisket or burnt ends you need to call ahead or go early. Delicious range of sauces. I am torn between Carolina and Memphis flavors. Wonderful food and service..
MoreThe Cole slaw, a vinegary prep. was excellant. The buttermilk pie was excellant. The many sauces were very good each one. The burnt ends not so much, more like fatty chunks of brisket, not what I would call burnt ends at all. The counter help very nice.
MoreVery small place. But food is very very good. Lots of people got their food to go. Friendly staff. Unique decor. Recommend.
MoreGO TO OWL BEAR INSTEAD. The first and ONLY time I came here they had NO BRISKET. I was told by the employee to CALL AHEAD for brisket. Why even be open? When explaining it's my first time here, he explained we are very good. How do I know that if you dont even HAVE PRODUCT? After respectful back and forth I was then told and I quote "go somewhere else." Well I WILL and you, the reader. should too. This place ain't worth it.
MoreOkay first off, the staff let us enter through the kitchen so we can not slip on the ice. Second, best brisket I've had in Colorado. FIVE DIFFERENT BBQ SAUCES, all very good. Great price for the amount of food you get PLUS dessert. Speaking of dessert, the buttermilk pie will change your life. Seriously though, it's that good. Edit: friend says this place will convert vegans. We will definitely be coming back with more people.
MoreAwesome food.. great place.. small but intimate.. i would reccomend this place..
Loved it. The best❤❤❤ ribs I ever had. First stop on my way back to visit Denver. Colorado
MoreBest BBQ in Denver hands down. Amazing owners, great family vibes. Would stop in daily after the gym
MoreEasily the best BBQ. The meat just falls off the bone on the ribs. The pulled pork is juicy without being greasy. Love the Mac and cheese. And the beans have a great touch of green chili. Very friendly staff. We will DEFINITELY be back...very very soon!
MoreFirst time there food was excellent will be going back
Absolutely awesome BBQ. I recommend it for everyone
First time in. Will be back! The food was amazing. The dining room was small and cozy. The staff was friendly. The Carolina BBQ sauce was beyond expectations. The meats and sides were cooked to perfection.
MoreGreat brunt ends and love the potatoes.
This is absolutely the best BBQ in the area! Everything I've had so far has been great (and I'm almost all the way through the menu!) They also have a great variety for sauces and they're all delicious too! Even if the food was terrible I'd still eat here because they really treat you like family! Good family, that they like!
MoreMmmm the BEST bbq in Denver!
Delicious BBQ fresh and family owned. A rarity in Denver.
The Brisket is great all of the sides I've had are also
Hands down BEST BBQ I’ve had in long time. The ribs are so tender the meat just falls right off the bone. The sweet bbq and hot bbq are delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family!!! I can’t wait to go back!
MoreVery dry meat they're homemade barbecue sauce was heavily vinegar base The price was too high for the quality. The only upside that I liked from them was. Their desserts They're baked beans. Had too much green chili. Overpowered of the beans and not sweet like traditional baked beans mac and cheese Was Bland the noodles are overcooked. The cornbread was dry. I highly recommend to go to G'Que instead of raging hog.
MoreNice BBQ joint a few minutes off the interstate. Has indoor seating and all the meats and sides.
MoreThis is the best BBQ I've had in Denver. All meats are cooked to perfection and have such a good flavor. Sides are delicious also. A must try!
MoreSimply the best bbq to date here in colorado. Call ahead or get there early cause the pigs got wings and they fly quick. Im from bama and this joint is legit. All the house made sauces and you can smell them down the street. Your next bbq needs to be the Ragin Hog! So good i nearly forgot the photo!
MoreTo echo Raymond's review, the pulled pork was overflowing...and quite tasty. I really enjoyed sampling the 6 different BBQ sauces. I also feel the sandwich combo was quite a deal considering not only the portion of pork but the two sides and dessert! The buttermilk pie is amazing!
MoreSuper nice people. The menu is robust but not overwhelming. Meats are great. In fact, all the food was excellent. The macaroni and cheese had some spice to it which was really cool. The beans are excellent as well. Overall a great place and great experience.
MoreAll of the sides were super tasty and well done. I had never heard of potato salad with sour cream (?) But it was delicious and unique. The collard greens were amazing, the best I've had at any restaurant! And the brisket and hot links were great too. But the real reason I'm going out of my way to leave a review was the customer service! Small town feel in the big city for sure and we will definitely be back.
